week ten

When I reflect on this class  I feel frustrated. The course work was so overwhelming for me I had to get a tutor. The programs we where shown where interesting and fun at times, but basic computer skills is what I'm lacking. I feel like I was pushed in to a deep pool of water before being taught how to swim. My "muddy point" is my confidence with the computer, I still afraid to explore. During this class I some how manged to lock my senior thesis in a document that is unobtainable for revision, which is really frustrating.

What self improvements do I think I've made? I know how to blog. I know how to use moodle. I know how to ask for help when I need it. I realized there are a lot of creative programs at our finger tips on the computer for example storybird.

What I'm Most Proud Of.

I had some silly fears about what the computer is and what it does. As well as how social networking impacts society and the fear is gone. The computer is nothing for me to be afraid of. Due to this class I signed my daughter up for the after science class at spring Mountain. I tried in the fall doing it by phone but 'Mad Science ' don't do it that way. So today Skyler is learning about the ph balance of things. Her soccer team which starts in April lets parents know when practices and games via e-mail. For my daughters benefit i need to feel comfortable on the computer. So Skyler thank you.

Week Eight Blog Entry

The learning outcome for LLA1. sounds overwhelming with the first read. I do believe I have a much greater understanding on how to use the computer and what it has to offer. It might have taken me eight weeks to feel comfortable blogging but I'm doing this one with ease. Some of the other software applications have created joy with my six year old, which is a wonderful out come for any class I take. I do feel overwhelmed in this class. I wonder if the learning out come is to ambitious. This class is for the students who can't pass the computer lit. test. I would change the second sentence of this outcome by removing the word ethics. The ethics of humanity don't need to be addressed in a computer class.

week six

How has our dependence on technology improved our world? The two things that come to mind quickly is commincation and the advancements in the medical field. Both of these feilds has helped humanity.

diminished the human connection--I don't belief the computer has done this. My friends are all on facebook and they text quite often, but I don't. I have not lost there love or time.

week two

Week Two--Technology has caught me. i need compters to graduate. Which is good. It is about time I wake up. It's 2011. I have avoided this for fourty years. I've worked as a trades person up untill four years ago when I decided to go to college. Three years ago i got a cell phone and an e-mail address. I don't rext or facebook. this week end i asked my fiend Denise to show me her face book and explain the reason for it. She knows me well and has done craft fairs with me in the past. She can get on the computer on her phone and just touches the screen, anyway I don't understand it

week three

Week Three-- Micheal what I know about myself in relationship to this class is I'm trying my best.I can't firgure so of this assignment --for example how to post week three in week three. I called you tuesday for help. My tutor who is helping me with the weekly assignment suggested that i blog all past assignments here. Breathe deeply and post a blog.

week four

Week Fours Blog-- What I noticed first about the video is the shell gas symbol. I really enjoyed the story about the little girl drawing a picture of god. How the teaching said "No one knows wht god looks like" And the little girl replys "they will soon." That is wonderful. Children are fabulous. Creativity is the answer for any problem I do agree with that man. The video was choppy on my computer. I couldn't hear all of it. Amy

Week Five

I have not taken an on-line class at Marylhurst. I enjoy the face-to-face experience.The anonymous nature of computers feels strange to me. I believe that is part of the reason why I'm having a difficult time with blogging, I don't know who I'm talking to.
Marylhursy offers a range of options for how to take a course which is wonderful.
